M A C E D O N I A : COUNTRY OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT : This tour provides you with an ideal opportunity to explore Macedonia, the Land of Alexander, make a unique journey through 7.000 years of Greek History and meet parts of a Countryside you wiil always remember.
1st Day: Drive to DELPHI through LIVADIA and ARACHOVA,upon arrival visit the museum and the archaeological site . Depart for KALAMPAKA, a smoll town situated at the foot of astonishing complex of Meteora, gigantic rocks. Overnight & Dinner
2nd Day: In the morning visit the breathtaking METEORA, among striking scenery, perched on top of huge rocks which seem to be suspended in mid-air,stand ageless Monasteries, where you can see exquisite speciments of Byzantine art.- Drive by TRIKALA and LARISA to the famous, sacred Macedonian town of DION visit the archaeological site. Admire also from here the gigantic figure of Mount OLYMPUS, the highest mountain in Greece and home of the 12 Gods[Greek Mythology] after the visit depart for the town of Naoussa.Dinner and Overnight.-
3rd Day: Depart in the morning for the town of Kastoria, the Greek Center of the fur industry and also famous for its beautiful Lake. A Prehistoric Lake. Settlement 7.000 years old, was discovered here and you will admire the rare findings in the tiny local Museum together with the recreation of the Old Settlement, After the visit of Kastoria continue driving and arrive in the picturesque town of Edessa. Here you can seat next to the town’s famous Landmark, the Waterfall and enjoy a drink or a cup of coffee. Return to Naoussa for Dinner and
Overnight.-
4th Day: Morning drive to PELLA,the Ancient Capital of the Kingdom of Macedonia, visit the site. Then continue to THESSALONIKI, the largest town in Northern Greece.Visit the City and the most interesting Museum.Return to Naoussa for dinner and overnight.-
5th Day: In the morning depart from Naoussa and since the area is famous for the production of some of the finest wines in Greece, we shall make a very interesting visit to the local Boutari winery. After the visit we sahall drive to VERGINA, Visit the very important Museum with all the astonishing and pricelles finding belonging to the Macedonian civization which recent excavations brought to light.
